While travelers’ iteneraries that can accommodate multiple days, will get to taste a bit of it all. Tours Available

#1 – One day to see Jaipur

Day 1: The pink city and a fortress in the hills…

Morning: Strike out early to see Jaipur, India’s Pink City. A popular way to see it all is to arrange for a driver for the day. They can keep you on schedule and keep you moving through the busy streets. With ease your day can include Jantar Mantar, The Jal Mahal, The Hawal Mahal, Royal Albert Hall and the impressive Amber Fort. Push yourself to stay on pace and you may be able to add the Monkey Temple or the Valley of the Tombs of the Maharajas…

Late Afternoon: Peacock Rooftop Restuarant, atop our hotel, is the perfect place to relax and recharge after spending the day touring Jaipur’s forts and attractions.

Evening: Return to the Amber Fort for the light show after-dark. It is stunning and not to be missed.

Amber Fort

#2 – Two days of Jaipur sightseeing

Day 1: Everything from the one day tour…

Day 2: A temple off-the-beaten-track and then “To Market To Market…”

Morning: Arrange for transport to the Tiger Fort. From its walls you can look down upon all of Jaipur. Seeing the water bound Jal Mahal from this vantage point certainly underscores the effort that went into its construction.

Afternoon: Time to shop on those bustling streets you have seen driving around Jaipur. Johri Bazar – It’s famous, it’s crowded, it’s also a shopper’s delight. Johri Bazar is your best bet if you plan to look for sarees and lehangas in colorful bhandhej, or glittering gemstone jewellery. As the name suggests, Johri Bazar is essentially a place for gems and jewellery. The smaller lanes contain the jeweler workstations – or gaddis – inhabited by craftsmen for generations. Johri Bazar has lots of shops for gold, silver and studded jewellery. As always – do not let your desire to buy overpower your knowledge of precious materials. Jaipuri quilts (rajai) are a hot-selling item at shops near Hawa Mahal, Bapu Bazar, Chaura Rasta and Gopalji ka rasta.

Make it a point to visit the Dahi Bade of LMB or Laxmi Mishtan Bhandar, perhaps the oldest and most popular sweet shop of the Pink City.

Evening: Experience Bollywood at the Raj Mandir Cinema. Built in 1976, the theater is in the Art Moderne style. Don’t let the size fool you. If fills up quickly.

If you are reading this far then you must be looking for a multifaceted Jaipur experience. Our longer suggestions will have you walking the street markets, expanding your palette, seeing the city from above, and maybe even waking up with an elephant…

elephantastic
Elefantastic is an initiative begun in 2012 to understand and promote the well being of the few surviving giants of the planet. We promote Eco-touristic values and look out for the ones who would want to put their hand forward for the trunk. Before starting this program #, the founder of Elefantastic, himself worked as an elephant-rider for 9 years. During this time he met a lot of tourists who talked about how they would like to see more of these animals than just the usual rides. He also found that alot of foreigners have the idea that elephants are treated very poorly in India, and wanted to show them that this is not always the case. – from their site
